Privacy Policy

Kinmara ("we", "us") is a live music band based in London, UK. This policy explains what personal information we collect through kinmara.com, why we collect it, and your rights over it.

Who we are. The data controller is Kinmara. You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@kinmara.com.

What we collect and why. When you use our instant quote calculator or contact us through the site, we collect the details you provide: typically your name, email address, event date, venue or event location, and any information you include in a message. We use this information to calculate and send your quote, respond to your enquiry, and manage your booking if you choose to book us. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract if you go ahead.

If you book us, we may also keep records needed to run the business, such as invoices and booking agreements, which we retain because the law requires it (our legal obligation basis, for example for tax records).

What we don't do. We do not sell your information. We do not send marketing emails unless you have specifically asked us to keep in touch, and you can opt out at any time.

Visit counts. We count visits to the site so we know roughly how many people find us. The count is anonymous and happens for every visitor, whatever you choose in the cookie banner, because it doesn't store anything in your browser. We only record that a visit happened, the date, and which of our campaign links it came from, if any. Your IP address is used briefly, in memory only, to avoid counting the same visit twice, and is never saved.

Analytics and advertising. With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, and Google Ads conversion tracking to see which of our adverts lead to enquiries. If you accept cookies and then send us an enquiry, we may share your email address with Google in a scrambled (hashed) form so the enquiry can be matched to the advert that brought you here, and we may store that advert's click reference alongside your enquiry. Our lawful basis for this is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Where your information lives. Enquiry and quote details are stored in our booking database, hosted by our infrastructure providers. Like many small businesses we rely on established service providers for hosting, database services and email; these providers process data on our behalf under their own contractual safeguards. Some providers may store data outside the UK; where that happens, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and embedded content. Our site keeps cookie use to a minimum. Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you reject them, none are set, although Google's tag may still send basic signals without cookies, such as a page being viewed, which Google uses to estimate results in aggregate. We remember your choice in your browser so we don't ask on every page, and ask again after a year. Pages on this site also include embedded content from third parties, such as YouTube videos and Google Maps, which may set their own cookies and collect data according to their own privacy policies when you interact with them.

How long we keep things. Enquiry details that don't lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Booking and financial records are kept for six years in line with UK tax requirements.

Your rights. Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict our use of it, and receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email info@kinmara.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes. If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date above.
